ISEK Summer Camp

2010 ISEK summer camps were a success!

The 2010 ISEK summer camp season is officially over!  This summer, students from all over Iowa participated in our 2050 Challenge Camps, Explore Engineering Camps, Girls Only Camp, and STEM Camp.   These camps provided students with an opportunity to play with the latest technology, participate in awesome engineering activities, and experience campus, not to mention toy around with some amazing robotics. The ISEK Camps are a great way to learn more about how engineers solve problems, get creative, and how they can change the world!

If you missed out on the fun this summer or can’t wait to return for more engineering camp, no worries: ISEK Camps will be offered again next summer!  Please continue visiting the website periodically for details on the 2011 ISEK Summer Camps.  Registration for these camps should open in March 2011.

We plan to offer 2050 Challenge Camps, Explore Engineering Camps, Girls Only Camp, and STEM Camp for our 2011 summer.  Here is some more information on these camps:

Engineering: The 2050 Challenge- The 2050 Challenge is the College of Engineering’s vision for what challenges our world will face in the next 40 years. Renewable energy, abundant clean water, health care, sustainable agriculture, safe roads and preventing natural disasters – these are all problems our society needs to address in the future. Engineering: The 2050 Challenge camps will introduce participants to the 2050 Challenge and give them the opportunity to learn how engineers at Iowa State University are working to address these problems now. Like all ISEK camps, these are hands-on camps where participants get to work alongside engineers to learn about engineering, science and technology.  The 2050 Challenge Camps are two days camps available to 8-14 year olds.

Explore Engineering!Half day camp for 6-9 year olds. Explore Engineering! camp gives participants a chance to learn about basic engineering & science concepts through some fun, hands-on activities!

Girls Only CampA two day camp designed just for girls ages 11-14, participants will get the chance to visit research labs at Iowa State, do hands on engineering and science activities and learn how they can become the engineers of the future.

STEM CampA two day camp for 10-13 year olds.  Participants will get to check out interesting science, technology, engineering and math activities and learn how to apply those skills to the real world. STEM Camp includes activities from several colleges at Iowa State University!

If you’re in the Quad Cities area, you might also be interested in the Engineering Kids Day Camp at the Putnam Museum. You can learn more on their website.
