Volunteers

Be a FIRST LEGO League Program Volunteer!

Getting started with FLL further expands the impact of STEM in your community. The best way to get started with FLL is volunteering for FIRST LEGO Challenge or FIRST LEGO Explore events is very rewarding. Students (6-14 years old) work rigorously to learn all about the specific theme of the year (ex: outerspace, city planning, animals, water usage, ect) and create innovative solutions to problems we will face! What they understand and create is awesome and they are looking to share their ideas with you as a volunteer! We invite you to volunteer at any of the following events and see the amazing efforts of these kids!

Become a Volunteer

Helping out at events or mentoring teams are great ways to get involved. It’s easy to get started.

Steps to Becoming a Volunteer

  • STEP 1:

    Register with FIRST

All our FLL volunteers need to register in the FIRST system. Volunteers will undergo a free background check per FIRST‘s Youth Protection Program. With just a few minutes of your time, you are helping us work to ensure the protection of the youth involved in our programs.

  • STEP 2:

    Access your Dashboard

You will see a dashboard after logging in and four buttons at the top: click on “Volunteer Registration”.

  • STEP 3:

    Select Volunteer

Next select the option “Volunteer at an event” that appears in the middle of the page.

  • STEP 4:

    Search For Events

From the next page, you can search for events in our area and apply* to be a volunteer at those events. For descriptions of common volunteer positions, click here.

*Conflict of Interest: We ask that you not volunteer for a role involved with judging or refereeing at the event in which you have any relationship with any of the competing teams (coach, mentor, parent or relations to student or school/organization). Please refer to the Link to FIRST Volunteer Conflict of Interest and Disclosure Statement for more information.

  • STEP 5:

    Finishing Steps

You will need to log into your FIRST account and agree to this season’s Terms and Conditions, Consent and Release Form and the Youth Protection Program Policies. Once these three items have been checked, your screening status will be updated and displayed in your account. Then you will hear from us about the event.
