Redefining Futures FIRST Team Grant Program

Collins Aerospace has announced their new Redefining Futures FIRST Team Grant program. This FIRST team grant program is available to FIRST teams in key Collins Aerospace operations locations including Iowa with two or more of the following attributes

  • Rookie team
  • Significant socioeconomic need; 50% or more of team members qualify for free or reduced lunch rates
  • 50% or more of team members from underrepresented populations in STEM fields

The Collins Aerospace Redefining Futures FIRST Team Grant does not require a Collins employee mentor/coach.

The Iowa is an eligible region and teams in Iowa qualify for the program. Collins Aerospace has asked us to distribute this link to teams that you think meet the above criteria. Please read through this page for full information as well as here.

We highly recommend team mentors and coaches read through the full website before formally applying to the grant program.

Please note that Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney (P&W) also run their employee FIRST team grant program through this same application form. Any FIRST team with a Collins Aerospace or P&W employee mentor or coach automatically qualifies for a sponsorship from Collins Aerospace/P&W. Employees with FIRST teams who were awarded a Collins/P&W FIRST team grant in the past have already been notified to apply for this upcoming FIRST season.

Q : When will my team receive status on our Collins Aerospace Redefining Futures FIRST team grant?
Please allow 2-4 weeks from the date the grant application was submitted for processing. Teams will be notified of grant status from FIRST HQ with funding applied directly to your team’s FIRST account. Make sure your team does not pay for registration until you have heard from FIRST regarding grant status. Grants awarded to teams that complete and pay for FIRST registration will be void as refunds/regrants cannot be made.
Q : Where can I find Collins Aerospace logos?

You can find all company logos and guidelines at this website: https://corpid.rtx.com/

Q : Where should my team send a thank you/team update to Collins Aerospace for sponsorship?

While they love receiving handwritten physical and electronic thank you notes and updates directly from sponsored teams, the greatest and most effective thank you the company can receive is through their social media channels. This social form of gratitude reaches more of the employees across the enterprise involved in the partnership with FIRST. It also happens to be more cost and time effective for our FIRST teams. Please make sure to tag with the below social media channels as much as possible:
